Delete your account
You can delete your Moev account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains how, what gets removed, and what — if anything — is retained.
Fastest way
Email info@moev.co from the email address on your Moev account with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Include your full name and phone number on file so we can locate your account. We will process your request within 30 days.
What gets deleted
The following data is permanently removed from active Moev systems within 30 days of a verified deletion request:
- Your name, email, phone number, and password hash
- Your profile photo and any uploaded documents
- Your service addresses and saved locations
- Location history from completed charging sessions
- Notification preferences and device push tokens
- Any customer support communications not required for legal defense
What may be retained
Some information is retained after account deletion to meet legal, tax, and safety obligations. Where retained, it is de-identified and disassociated from your account whenever possible:
- Financial records — transaction amounts, tax records, and refund history may be retained in anonymized form for up to 7 years as required by applicable tax and accounting law.
- Safety and dispute records — if your account was involved in an active dispute, insurance claim, or safety investigation, minimal records will be retained until that matter is resolved.
- Backups — deletions propagate to encrypted backups on their normal 30-day rotation cycle. Backups are not restored to production absent a disaster recovery event.
- Aggregate/anonymized data — de-identified analytics that cannot be traced back to you may be retained indefinitely.
How the process works
- You email info@moev.co from the address on your account, or call us and confirm your identity.
- We verify that the request is coming from the account owner. If we cannot confirm your identity, we may ask for additional information.
- We check for any open bookings, active jobs, or unresolved payments. You must resolve those first (complete the booking, pay outstanding balance, or dispute in writing).
- We remove your personal data from active systems.
- You receive an email confirming deletion is complete.
Drivers
Driver accounts follow the same process, with two additions:
- You must not have an active van assignment when the deletion is processed. Return equipment and hand off any active shift first.
- Driver earnings and payout records are retained for tax purposes for up to 7 years in anonymized form.
Timing
Standard requests are processed within 30 days. Requests are usually fulfilled much sooner. If your jurisdiction requires a faster timeline (e.g., CCPA/CPRA — 45 days), we honor whichever deadline is stricter.
Reactivating after deletion
Deletion is permanent. If you want to use Moev again after deleting your account, you'll need to create a new account. Prior booking history and driver approval status will not be restored.
